Home page Walking & Cycling in Cumbria The most photographed bridge in Cumbria? Ashness Bridge of postcard fame.

On Great Mell Fell - seen it many times from the A66, never been up it before. Highly recommended light walk after Sunday lunch.

Watendlath bridge. We had the wrong type of bike for the path from Borrowdale, and had to carry them quite a way. The long  downhill return to Derwent Water was an effortless thrill!

Helvellyn summit shelter in thick cloud. Good thing I have been there several times before or I would have regretted not seeing the wonderful views after the effort of the climb. Lower Right : Helvellyn on a better day! Top Right : High Street ,walking the Kentmere Horseshoe.

Far left and right: with my son Peter

And near left my wife Carol at Castlerigg. Far right with Peter and Francis Beloe on Helvellyn
